We’re looking for a web developer to join our team of eCommerce front-end developers. Our team is responsible for coding eCommerce web assets for more than 40 business units around the world. We code eCommerce stores, subscription forms, and all manner of online ad-served assets (banners, roadblocks, wall-paper ads, ads with order forms built in), as well as building and maintaining tools to support a growing eCommerce platform. The position requires serious coding skills to bring designs to life and make them function (visual design skills are a plus but not mandatory). Work on some of the most compelling e-commerce initiatives for some of the world’s most influential brands!
Responsibilities:
- Development of consumer marketing subscription and authentication forms, ad served units, and a variety of eCommerce websites/experiences across all Time Inc brands
- Ensure the technical feasibility of creative designs
- Collaborate with marketers, operations personnel and brands to ensure a functional and usable experience for consumers across mobile and desktop platforms
- Provide support for production systems and troubleshoot application related problems
- Write/maintain documentation
Technologies/experience:
5 yrs experience in:
- Hand coding HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (including Object Oriented JavaScript / JSON data)
- JavaScript frameworks, particularly jQuery
- Responsive design and mobile development
- Excellent understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues, and experience debugging issues using browser developer tools
- Excellent understanding of asynchronous request handling and AJAX
- Experience with Unix
- Experience with any of the following a plus:
- REST / Web Services
- Adobe SiteCatalyst (Omniture)
- Basic knowledge of image tools, i.e. Gimp, Irfanview, Adobe Photoshop
- Apache Velocity or similar templating language
- Additional programming/scripting languages such as Perl/Python/PHP
